Moments Over Coffee

As many of you know, I am a Starbucks junkie. I love everything about Starbucks.
I like escaping my house and going to a place that is the definition of chill.
I have turned into a bit of a coffee snob, but I like to think my time at Bucks has been well spent.
Homework, Journaling, Songwriting, Sipping, Soaking in sunshine, all of which can happen in a small amount of time. I also thoroughly enjoy catching up with good friends there over a latte/tea.

Bucks feels like home sometimes. I know it well. I have recorded some special moments over the past few months in order to share things I have learned by observation...
(other than what the best drinks on the menu are.)

Strangers are their kindest when sipping expensive coffee.
A mom brings her toddler son into Starbucks and within moments her son bonds with complete strangers at the table next to her. They begin to hold some conversation while the strangers play checkers with the little boy. The mom is enjoying a little free time while the couple enjoys a date with a twist. They are all beaming...
Another reason I love Starbucks, everyone is happy here.

Awkward moments are just moments.
I’m sitting here glancing at a couple, obviously on their first date, they are so giddy. There is very evident physical awkwardness, but they are definitely enjoying themselves. Even the guy, however excited he is about just sitting and talking (his face shows slight disinterest upon a little rambling from her) is enjoying this for the most part. They are so adorable, she’s super high maintenance and he’s some sort of tall buff manly man. Every move they make mirrors each other. One sips, and then the other.. as if to say I’m not really sure who you are right now, but sipping in the moments of silence help the awkward parts. (very precious moment to witness)

A compliment from a child is the sweetest thing, because they are genuine.
While sitting on the porch alone with my laptop and Blue Like Jazz a little girl, that spoke  poor English with an adorable accent, came up to me out of the blue. She tapped me on the leg to get my attention (because I had headphones in) and told me “I really like your hair.”
