So I've been in Dallas for two full days now, and it's been exactly what the doctor ordered.
I'm sure you've figured it out by now, I am a vagabond of sorts. I crave time on the road away from the city I call my hometown. I desire to spend hours in airports and on airplanes.
I love trains, boats, 4wheelers... practically ANYTHING that will take me somewhere away from where I am. I thrive when I am away. I dread the day when I have to leave a new city. And I always leave a couple things on my list of "things to see" for when I return someday, however far away that day actually is.
List of things accomplished in D-Town so far:
Grab a great lunch from a great local eatery
Spend time with friends that I love
Make new friends
Watch a football game in Texas (sadly it was the Chief's and they sucked)
See Downtown
Ride the DART
Visit an art museum (I've got two under my belt: Asian Arts & Sculpture)
Spend time in a city "garden"/"oasis"
Grab Starbucks (Yes, every city has one. Yes, I still love it.)
Walk the art district
Things still to-see/do:
See more friends (Rachel & Dezi live here too)
Eat TexMex
Song-writing with Aud
See more of the city
Spend more time in a city garden/oasis
Visit a cheesy history museum (I'm THAT geek that reads everything)
Wear cowboy boots in TX (I left mine at home, next time they will accompany me)
This has been a very promising vacation and I still have a full day & evening to enjoy.
I'm already dreading a return on Tuesday to reality.
I have a LOT of things to accomplish before I head back & before the weekend.
(Wedding number 14 this weekend!!! KayLex!)
More Dallas to come... hopefully pictures as well.
