It's officially fall in the midwest. The air is cool, and jackets are making appearances in broad daylight. This time of year is not my favorite, but it holds a firm second place. I love the clothes, the beginnings of layers. I like the chilled breeze every now and then, with the right music. Most of all, I like how fall makes me feel. It makes my heart beat a little faster when the breeze blows. I love taking walks and just soaking in the warmth of the sun. It's crazy to me how there are people in the world that don't believe in anything. I like the clear mind it brings, and the beautiful colors.
Just the other day I was on the highway heading towards God's Mountain when I witnessed the craziest thing. A butterfly migration. Normally, I would get all annoyed with things flitting around my head, but I was inside a car and it was safe. How do a million butterflies know where to fly when it gets cooler? How do they make it all that way? It's amazing to me.
I love the music that reminds me of fall, bluegrass, country, anything with a twang and I'm in. I like the relaxed atmosphere of fall festivals. I love the fellowship of it all.
So, here's to fall of 2010.
May we not get bogged down with frivolous tasks (school, yard chores, etc), and may we enjoy whatever it brings.
I hope this fall doesn't disappoint. I'm excited for the leaves to change colors & the layers to pile on.
If only we could skip the winter, and go right back into late spring. If only.

Catch a flight to Buenos Aires next month and you'll skip right into late spring. That's my plan.
